MarketComm Producing Music Video for Thomas Built Buses, Inc.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 19, 2000 -- MarketComm is producing a music video titled "A Day in the Life of a Thomas Built Bus" for the June 23 grand opening of a new Thomas Built Buses, Inc., manufacturing plant in Jamestown, N.C.

The production was conceived, written and produced by MarketComm and is being shot and edited by Paradox Films of Charlotte.

"This is a fun project meant to introduce people to the diversity of Thomas products," said Stern Dixon, MarketComm president. "In recent years Thomas has expanded its line considerably and many people are unaware of the company~s full range of product."

Thomas Built Buses was founded in 1916 in High Point, N.C., as a streetcar manufacturer. In the late 1930s as streetcar ridership waned in the United States Thomas switched to building school buses. The company eventually grew to become one of the top two school bus manufacturers in North America. In recent years, Thomas has expanded into the commercial transit, shuttle and specialty bus markets. In 1998, the company was purchased by Freightliner Corporation.

The company~s newest manufacturing plant in Jamestown will build the Thomas SLF 200, a super low floor commercial transit bus. The plant is a joint venture between Thomas and Great Britain~s Mayflower Corporation. Attending the plant grand opening will be former British Prime Minister John Major, N.C. Governor Jim Hunt and a host of executives from Thomas, Freightliner, Diamler-Chrysler and Mayflower.
