Freightliner LLC Web Site Debuts

PORTLAND, ORE., June 15, 2001 -- Freightliner LLC, North America~s largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks, debutted its new corporate web site this week. The site was developed jointly by MarketComm, LLC, Carolina Public Relations and Objectiv Studios.

"Working with Freightliner was a wonderful opportunity for our team," said Stern Dixon, MarketComm President. "The new web site is a significant improvement that enables Freightliner to keep the site fresh and up-to-date simply and easily.

"The site features a web-based administration tool that allows site administrators to update corporate news, trade show information and other content from their browser," Dixon said.

"Dynamic, data-driven web sites, like Freightliner~s take a little more time to develop on the front end, but save time and money for a company in the long run," Dixon said. "Companies without data-driven sites either fail to keep their site fresh and up-to-date, or they pay and arm and a leg for highly skilled programmers to make simple changes."

The new Freightliner site is heavily weighted toward visitors from the news media. A Press Room section features easy to located content of special interest to the media, including news, corporate facts, an image bank, and more. Although a private company, Freightliner is part of publicly-owned DaimlerChrysler and subject to regular, intense media scrutiny. Providing a media-friendly site was a major criteria for the web site re-development project.
