MarketComm Produces Video for Duke Power Co.

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 28, 2003 -- MarketComm recently completed a video production for Duke Power Co. to show at public hearings on the relicensing of the Catawba/Wateree Hydroelectric Project. The production explained the Federal Energy Regulatory Agency~s relicensing process and provided an overview of the history of the Catawba/Wateree hydro system. The project was written and produced by MarketComm and edited by Duke~s in-house teleproductions department.
"FERC~s relicensing process is a lengthy one," says MarketComm President Stern Dixon. "This video was developed to help educate those interested in relicensing about the issues that will be explored over the next several years. Those issues include water quality, recreational opportunities, and management of the biological and botanical resources found within the project."
Duke~s Catawba/Wateree Hydroelectric Project encompasses 11 impoundments and 13 hydro stations stretching from Hickory, N.C., to Camden, S.C. The project supplies more than 800 megawatts of electricity to the North Carolina and South Carolina piedmont region, and more than 1 million people obtain their drinking water from the Catawba and Wateree rivers and their impoundments..
